Perigeo

perigee and an Italian band of fusion and progressive style of the seventies, led by John Thomas, composed of elements with jazz training with references to the jazz-rock album Soft Machine.

Their first album, Azimut (1972), achieves good results immediately, We all have the next album by a blues cry (1973) inserted instead oriented rock songs, from jazz to rock to funky jazz. The next album Genealogy (1974) includes songs, always high, but more catchy, with increased use of synthesizer.

In The Valley of the Temples (1975), which relies on the presence of Tony Esposito on percussion, is given particular importance to the rhythm, the group achieved a good recognition of trade. With not that far away (1976), registered in Canada, the perigee than enhances the technical skills of the musicians, but ends with the jazz rock.

In 1978 all members of the group involved in the recording of the singer-songwriter John Ullo Ullu.

In 1980, after a long pause during which the group officially disbanded, there is a reunion for the production of Alice double album, which alternates with the jazz rock pop songs. On the disc label is the name of the group Perigeo Special, but it is still the original part.

Later, John Thomas reform the group with new members, and gives life to New Perigeo. This training involved the creation of Q Concert, with an EP and Rino Gaetano Riccardo Cocciante and LP Effect of love, after which it split up.
